The Sunshine Coast Rugby Union (SCRU) is inviting schools and clubs from New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and all states of Australia to participate in the inaugural Sunshine Coast Rugby Festival 2018 on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. The Sunshine Coast Rugby Festival 2018 is scheduled for Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July 2018 and will feature Boy’s teams from Under-12’s through to Under-18’s to play Rugby 10’s and Girl’s Under-13, Under-15 and Under-18’s teams to play Rugby 7’s.

The Festival will be held at Lighthouse Park, Caloundra the home of the Caloundra Rugby Union Club. This is a wonderful opportunity to develop young rugby players through the experience of a unique, regional tour set to welcome girls and boys to fun, festival of active sport on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast during the July school holiday period.

Festival Venue

Lighthouse Park Caloundra, home to the Caloundra Rugby Union Club, will be the venue for the Sunshine Coast Rugby Festival 2018 and is within walking distance to aquatic centres, accommodation, dining and pristine ocean beaches. The Wallabies have a strong connection the Sunshine Coast and particularly Caloundra, setting up training camps based at Lighthouse Park dating back to the 1990’s before their successful Rugby World Cup campaigns.

Festival Participants

SCRU is aiming to attract a mixture of teams from across the world. This diverse mix of cultures is an experience that cannot be gained from a traditional billeted tour. The enthusiasm, fun and friendships generated in the accommodation venues is something young athletes will remember as a highlight of the tournament experience.

*Any players outside the “2-year window” for an age group will need to complete the required exemption form available from SCRF management or directly from the ARU. Under certain strict conditions players may also be able to “play down” and for this to happen, another special exemption form is required to be filled in, appropriately signed off and submitted to the ARU.

Boys 10’s

Under 12’s | Under 13’s | Under 14’s | Under 15’s | Under 16’s | Under 18’s

ENTRY FOR THE SUNSHINE COAST RUGBY FESTIVAL 2018 IS $350.00 PER TEAM

  • Twelve (12) Girl 7’s players or Sixteen (16) Boy 10’s, the coach and manager from each team will receive a tournament cap, and booklet of the event
  • Trophies and medallions will be presented to division winners and runners up
  • Fully qualified referees and dedicated Sport First Aid Officers will be present at all games

Travel & Accommodation

Non-local teams have the freedom to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. However, if assistance is required with flights, team or supporter accommodation etc., the Sunshine Coast SCRU has partnered with a World Sport Travel and Events to provide you with this service.
